What is BIG LABO?

Ooya Town is a part of Yabu City Hyogo Prefecture. Ooya is known for its very impressive beauty of nature. If you visit Ooya, you can be captivated the beauty of woods and hills. These are some of sightseeing spots, which you can enjoy with. TENDAKI FALLS, OOYA GAWA RIVER and MT.HYONOSEN.

 Ooya is also known as an active place for arts and crafts. Many artists and creators live in Ooya and their work premises, are the following,,

Wood Carving, Wood Crafting, Painting, Calligraphy, Dyeing, Pottery and Saori-ori weaving etc.

 Ooya is an Art Village, which has various resources of arts. It also offered many events and places, such as Wood Carving Folk Art Competitions in Ooya( Since 1994), The Exhibition of Wood Carving, Gallery Youzann-Nouka

 Yabu City promotes "Ooya Art Village Plan".

Whose purpose is to make local resources (environment, citizens, events, history etc.) with art.

 Then there was Ooya School of Yoka Senior High School. It was ended in the year of 2010th in march, but the people live in Ooya still remain the memory of its long history through 61years.

 In April 2012th Ooya School's building were renovated to the basement for this plan.

The Project is called "OOYA ART MURA BIG LABO"

 BIG LABO supports the activities of artists and creators, local events of arts. 

Now BIG LABO has an exhibition hall, several ateliers and an old school building for different workshops.
